Hi James,

The summer’s flying by - and for us, it’s been packed with kids summer activities, renovations, and a whole lot of... life.

Between family time, unexpected projects, and the usual day-to-day stuff, I’ve realized something: life doesn’t stop to make room for guitar. And honestly, that’s okay - because guitar was made to fit into life’s messy, beautiful rhythm.

A few minutes here and there really can keep your momentum going. You don’t need long stretches or perfect conditions. Just pick it up, strum a little, enjoy the sound, and let it be a part of your life - just like cooking, walking the dog, or sharing a laugh with friends.

Lately, my hands have been tied up with an unexpected renovation after our washer and dryer quit on us. They wouldn’t fit through the doorway, so I ended up tearing down - and later rebuilding - an entire wall just to get them out! Even in the middle of that chaos, I’ve still been carving out little moments to play, and every time, it makes the day feel lighter.

I'm curious: When life’s packed, where does guitar fit in for you?

Hit reply and share your secret!

- James

P.S. I’ve been working on some big updates for Learn Guitar Once and For All - revamped workbooks, clear milestones, and a brand-new feature launching soon that will make it easier than ever to stay on track. Stay tuned!

🏆 Meet Chris – Our Student of the Month for August! 🎉

Our Student of the Month is Chris Robinson, a veteran who picked up the guitar after retiring from 30 years of service in the Canadian Armed Forces. He was looking for something to help with PTSD and give him a reason to get up in the morning. Guitar became that outlet.

Chris started learning through a local program for veterans he helped organize. Even when the group didn’t last, he stuck with it and found his way to the GoodGuitarist community. He realized this was more than just another course. He felt supported and encouraged every step of the way and, today, playing guitar is the first thing he does in the morning and the last thing he does before bed.

Chris is not only learning guitar, but he’s also a moderator and an important part of our community. He brings a calm and thoughtful presence, and we’re really lucky to have him here.

🌟 We choose a new "Student of the Month" from our community every month. Keep learning, keep connecting, and you might see your name here next!
